(woman to pig transformation)

So, the evidence of the past few weeks is that this piggirl is more sympathetic than the other one. I’ve tried to do nothing to prejudice things one way or the other – not even reply to comments. But after one week, Bullies 1 had garnered 1,216 views and 58 favorites. After the same time period, Bullies 2 had merited 841 views and 28 favorites.

Why there was such a pronounced difference is another question. Perhaps we are uncomfortable seeing what is, historically, more commonly a real victim of such abuse. Or perhaps it is mere fatigue in seeing such a similar image in so short a time frame. Perhaps, as Silvermaster25 suggested, the first picture was just a stronger composition than the second one. Perhaps it’s something else entirely.

Regardless, thank you for your patience with this experiment.

You're going to say "yeah right" to the following but this was truley my reaction as, just a moment ago, I clicked back and forth between the two links. "Ooooooh, I was wondering what seemed different about those two manips."
In response to your experiment. I found no different of a reaction to either picture. Honestly, the black girl looks a bit like Martha from Dr. Who. I think, most probably, the two came out too close to one another and most who viewed the first (not on the list of messages) allowed the second to pass without close inspection due primarily to their similarity.
Another thought: were the two pics released at the same time a week apart?
I don't know. It's an interesting experiment but a very diffictult one to gauge considering all the variables.

Personally, the only reason I felt sorry for #1 more is because she was getting her hair pulled. Argh, I hate when that happens >.< It also looked like she was getting her other ear messed with or at least closely looked at, like they were examining her "flaws". #2 on the other hand, not a whole lot of hostility was being shown from the aggressors. I'll admit though that the emotions from the main subject were a bit stronger in #2 than in #1. If an image had the aggressors' hostility from #1 and the stronger main subject emotions from #2, then that would be the winner (imo) when compared with the first two.

I know I know, not a lot one can do with pre-determined stock photos  Just letting my perspective be known.
